Velez Organization is committed to the underlying goals and implementation of sustainable construction practices throughout the construction industry. Green buildings are not only good for the environment, they also provide immediate and long-term economic benefits for our public and private sector clients.
Velez incorporates sustainable and energy efficient strategies and practices into its projects by an inegrated approach that evaluates design, construction and engineering decisions based on energy savings, life cycle costing, and environmental concerns. We believe that environmentally sensitive siting, energy conservation and efficient design, as well as material and systems selection based on the useful life of a building are cost effective startegies for our clients. Design and construction practices that minimize waste and promote recycling reduce both the initial and ongoing operating costs of the facility. We look for the best combination of sustainable design strategies and technologies to increase the efficiency of the building systems and reduce overall costs.
We have been active in the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental design (LEED) projects both on new construction as well as renovations.
We strive to stay on top of this rapidly increasing, and important guiding construction principle through education and awareness of our project team.
