The Velez Organization represents the Hudson River Park Trust in an Association Agreement with Turner Construction Corp on the Hudson River Esplanade project. Velez had negotiated a 35% venture relationship with Turner for the project. The design emphasizes the environment, active recreation, and boating. Among its features include the complete reconstruction of Pier 25, and Pier 26, the construction of a park and public esplanade, including a habitat planning zone, lawns, seating areas, overlooks, a skate park, a miniature golf course, volleyball courts, basketball courts, and other active and passive recreation opportunities.
